(I Guess) We Need to Talk About Neil Gaiman

CONTENT WARNING! THIS POST DISCUSSES SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND THE CULTURE AROUND IT, INCLUDING AGAINST A CHILD. THERE'S ALSO A BRIEF SUICIDE MENTION. PLEASE PROCEED ACCORDINGLY.

Neil Gaiman actually wrote this story, in what we call "hiding in plain sight".

If you follow media about media, or if you're a fan of either book or screen version(s) of The Sandman, American Gods, Coraline, Anansi Boys, and many more, you got a bombshell this past summer and a big bombshell this past January.

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT THE FIFTY BOOKS CHALLENGE

Gif found here

You might be wondering where the heck the rest of 2023's Fifty Books Challenge is and where THIS year's challenge is. It is, after all, the end of June. I hear you.

But life and my own writing projects are taking up a lot of my time!

SO THE FIFTY BOOKS CHALLENGE IS TEMPORARILY

ON INDEFINITE HIATUS.

I do hope of course to bring it back eventually! But I can't say when.

In the meantime, though, feel free to enjoy posts from 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020, and why not leave a comment if you're feeling generous.

Hope to get back to snarking and ranting and raving eventually.

BOOK-IT '23 PROGRESS REPORT

Stock image snagged here.

Greetings, loyal readers! The new calendar year is nearly upon us!

You must be looking forward to the end of the Fifty Books Challenge of 2023 and eagerly anticipating what I'm reading and writing about in 2023! I am too. And I promise the rest of the books I've read in 2023 are coming, as is my summation of the year and welcoming the new one and the books and reviews that promises.

But I had a very, very busy holiday season, and an even busier few months before that, so a lot of work is going to have to be backdated and take time. It's coming, though, and I promise all the books under 2023 are books I read in 2023.

I can't wait for you to read all about it.

Happy Holidays and stay safe out there. Thanks for sticking around.

Book-It '23! Book #18: "True Crime Addict" by James Renner

NOTE: In the months since I've published this review, I've been made aware of some truly horrific behavior on the part of the author, even beyond his antics in this book. He's a truly awful person. I've kept the review, but removed my grade.

PLEASE REMEMBER I HAVE A FAQ POST NOW AND THANK YOU FOR LEAVING A COMMENT IF YOU'RE READING! LOVE AND THANKS TO ALL MY READERS!

Book-It '23! Book #12: "We Were Witches" by Ariel Gore

*****EDIT! Apparently, Blogger has an algorithm, which I feared, as these are always bad (HUMAN MODERATION IS THE ONLY WAY!).
So this post got flagged. I'm not sure why.
This isn't the first time I've covered any of these subjects or to this level, and what's more, I post my own content warnings, thank you.
If you, my readers, ever need a warning I didn't list, please let me know, unless you're mocking the concept of content warnings, in which case go away and yell swear words down a drain.***
